APEDA stands for Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. It is a government organisation establishment to provide guidelines, financial assistance, information towards scheduled products i.e. the products mentioned under the APEDA Act. The businesses exporting the scheduled products are required to register under APEDA.
The rules and regulations under APEDA are given by Central Government. Functions of APEDA authorities include setting up of standards for scheduled products, promotion of exports of scheduled product, carrying out inspection of the scheduled product for quality assurance.
