The Spices Board, which is part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is the
regulatory agency in charge of promoting Indian spices in the international market.
The Spices Board served as a link between Indian spice suppliers and overseas spice
buyers. The Spices Board Council’s principal responsibility was to develop and promote
India’s export business, particularly for spices and spices-related items.
It is the one type of export promotion councils in India. Currently there are 37 export
promotion councils available in India.Spices Board license was provided by spices board
council, it was valid for 3 years only. One month before the expiration of the day, the
person must apply for spice board renewal.
Having a Valid Certificate of Registration from the Spices Board is mandatory for any
manufacturer or merchant who is dealing with export of spices.
SPICE BOARD CERTIFICATE (CRES)
The Spices Board of India issues the CRES, which stands for Certificate of
Registration as an Exporter of Spices. The certificate authenticates that an
exporter of scheduled spices is registered with a regulatory agency authorized by
the Government of India.
